I'm back in the saddle again....

okay, okay
- yes I do have ponies...
no it's not that kind of saddle....
yes I do know that the phrase means something else entirely and
no...it's not that kind of saddle either.....

what a sad pathetic QUIET life I lead.....

but okay! enough of the pity party. Anyone up for a game of charades? The four horses, two kitties and one bird have grown tired of playing, especially since they always guess wrong. I mean, hello!?!?!? The bird keeps guessing, "Whoo??Whoo?" And I keep giving the sign for "book! book!" Guess that's what ya' get for playing with animals.....

surgery went well, pain is tolerable - tylenol working fine.
Nurses were very nice at surgery center. Waited for an hour (!!!) in pre-op. Don't know what the delay was -- but used it to my advantage. Yes....I TALKED!!!! Hey, from ME, whaddya expect? Remember: I was never invited to the silent retreats......

Soooo...wheeled into surgery at 12:45, woke up at 1:25, went home to Donna's at 1:50. Don't like to stay too long at hospitals, because of previous horror stories. Ate jello cups and pudding -- Made me think of Bill Cosby commercials: Pudding! LIFE IS GOOD!
Came home from Donna's this evening -- I was ready for my own bed and TV. Ahhh, the comforts of home.
Thanks to all that have emailed me -- mostly filled with advice to shuddup.......

I'M TRYING!!!!
--and yes, Lecram -- I may be blogging wildly....or wildly blogging.....or perhaps I'll take a chance and just be wildly......silent.

Hi Jayne
glad you're concious again, and not in too much pain. i aint gonna tell you to shaddup cos I like a gal who can talk, as I think I've mentioned before. Right, a few questions:
FOUR ponies?!?! Are you RICH? Do you live on a FARM?
Jello cups...what we call jelly here, v.good for post-op throats I understand, but what is 'pudding'??
'Pudding' here is a generic term for ALL 'sweets' so would include nice soft things like jelly and ice-cream, trifle, creme caramel ec etc but would also encompass scratchy stuff like cherry pie, pecan pie, and other pastry-based stuff...ouch!
Saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory FINALLY last night(shows have been selling out) Not as good as the Gene Wilder version, but pretty fine. Ma Daddy looked FABULOUS of course, even with the funny teeth!
Get well soon, AJp!

lelly --
pudding...hmmmm, how to describe pudding. On this side of the pond, pudding is like the stuff in the middle of a cream pie. Like a chocolate pie filling, got it? Rich, creamy, smooth.
Bill Cosby did commercials for Jello pudding.
No,no, no, not rich. Just bought at the right time 17 yrs ago. Have 2 1/2 acre "ranchette" and 3 horses. Let the ex "board" his horse in exchange he has to buy hay for all the horses.

Luved your Daddy in C&CF.

Thanks for not following in cousins shoes and telling me to shaddup...

silence is not golden. it's just quiet.....too quiet.

:)

Well no, actually Jayne. What the 'ecky peck is chocolate cream pie?? And Jello pudding?? Jello (Jelly) IS a pudding! Is Jello pudding like a trifle?
What do you call the final (sweet) course of a meal? We have a choice depending on what class/how posh/pretentious you are:
Afters (can encompass savoury option like cheese and biccies)
Sweet
Dessert
Pudding

now that you are home struggling to be quiet... time for a new post.

Lelly: okay, here we go:
Jello is not jelly. It is fruit flavored gelatin (not gelato) that sometimes has pieces of fruit in it.

Pudding - hmm...this one's gonna be tougher. Think I've got it: picture a bowl of whipped cream. Now change the texture - a bit more creamy/yogurty.....now add a flavor such as chocolate, banana, vanilla, butterscotch. Serve cold. Got it now?

Final course after the meal is either called desert...or sex...or both.

Lecram...
yes -- new post.....working on it.

I've got it! What you call pudding is similar to stuff we call 'Angel Delight' (haven't had that for years) Jello IS Jelly in UK...fruit flavoured gelatine stuff you set in the fridge. What you call jelly is called 'jam' in here...fruit-based spread sold in glass jars which you put in sandwiches or on toast...
Aint 'desert' a little scratchy for final course? All that sand gets everywhere...particularly if combined with your other 'final course'! LOL :-)

Lordy, lordy! guess I've got two choices:
a) spelled "dessert" wrong. I'm such a silly girl! Everybody knows the desert is too dry to grow two s's.

b) I can either have a desert (dry, nothing, famine) or sex (uh--not dry....uh--better than nothing.....definitely not starving).
